Benefits of Selling at the West Michigan Mom’s Sale
• Quantity of shoppers. When was the last time you had over 3,000 people show up to your garage sale?
• No need to advertise. We use radio, television, newspaper, and the Internet to advertise this sale for you.
• You will never get rained out. All of our sales are held in the DeltaPlex Arena and Conference Center so you never have to worry about the weather or time of year.
• Make more money. As a seller you keep 100% of whatever you make. The only thing you pay us is for the table rental.
• Pre-shop the sale. You have the opportunity to shop from all of the other sellers before the doors open to the public.
What’s Allowed
• You may sell anything new or used that is baby, child, or maternity related. (Children’s clothing must be sizes 0-8)
• You may sell handmade items as long as they are baby, child, or maternity related.
• You may bring your own rack or shelf as long as it fits in the 4’ x 4’ space at the end of your table.
What’s Not Allowed
• You may not promote a business in the selling area, unless you are an official Sponsor.
• You may not sell anything that is consumable (i.e. food, beverage, formula, over-the-counter or prescription medicine, etc.).
• You may not sell children’s clothing above size 8.
• You may not bring any additional tables for your space, unless they are 4′x4′ or smaller.
Important Information
• Doors will be open the Friday before the sale from 4pm-8pm for set-up. No pre-shopping will be allowed during this time.
• Doors will open at 6am Saturday morning for additional set-up and pre-shopping.
• You are responsible for the unloading and loading of your vehicle.
• You must arrive and register before 8 am the day of the sale. Sellers who arrive after 8 am will not be allowed to sell and they will not receive a refund.
• Please bring a friend or request that your table be placed next to someone you know, so you may shop, take a break for lunch, and use the restroom without leaving your table unattended.
• You are responsible for all of the transactions made at your table, so please bring plenty of cash for change.
• Bring enough bags for your customers.
• Be prepared for shoppers looking for a bargain. If you are not willing to barter, make a sign for your table stating this.
• Most sellers price their items somewhere between garage sale and consignment store prices.
• Make sure that any items you put under your table are visible and easily accessible.
• Make a sign to let the shoppers know what size and sex of clothing you are selling.
• Include the sizes on the price tags of your items.
• Connect your two and three piece items with safety pins or tape.
• Make sure your items are clean and if there are any defects, make sure they are clearly marked.
• Large items that do not fit in your booth area must be sold in our “Large Item Area”.
• You must stay for the entire sale! Our shoppers are expecting a certain number of sellers, and if sellers leave early it not only makes you look bad, it makes us look bad too.
• The number of chairs we can provide is limited (2 per seller). If you are worried about having a chair, please feel free to bring your own.
• Table assignments are completely random.
• After the sale, Alpha Women’s Center will be available to accept donations of unsold items.
New Consumer Product Safety Commission Regulations
We strongly encourage all sellers to be aware of the latest regulations enacted by Congress regarding Consumer Product Safety and to check the most recent list of recalls for any items they may be selling. Sellers are responsible for all items sold at their booth(s). The West Michigan Mom’s Sale and the CPSC strongly discourage the resale of expired or recalled children’s products, particularly, car seats, cribs, and play yards; items that may contain lead paint; toys that are flimsy or may easily break into small parts; toys that lack the required age warnings; and dolls or stuffed toys that have buttons, or other small parts that are not securely fastened and could present a choking hazard for young children. West Michigan Mom’s Sale and its Corporate Partners are not responsible for any items sold or purchased at this sale.
