Parking

We have had a lot of questions regarding parking for our Spring Event.

One of the biggest reasons we decided to not charge admission was because people will most likely need to pay for parking. We have had many people voice their concern about parking costing more than admission would have. This may or may not be true, depending on where you park and how many people ride in a vehicle together. Below is the parking situation for Saturday, April 28, 2012 in downtown GR.

-Meters downtown are free to park at on Saturday (except on Monroe Center).
-GR City Ramps (across from DeVos Place and attached to DeVos Place) are $1 per half hour.

So depending on how long you are at the event will depend on how much you pay. We encourage you to ride with a friend to cut down on parking costs. If you share a ride it will definitely be cheaper for you to pay for parking than pay for admission for multiple people.

If you purchase large items there will be a loading area that you can leave you stuff and pull your car up to. This will cut down on people  having to haul large amounts of stuff through parking garages. We will have this loading zone staffed with volunteers to help you!

Vendors who choose to set up Friday night can park at any meter in Grand Rapids after 5pm for free. You will be able to pull in to the building to unload and then you can find a parking spot and come back. If you choose to park in a City ramp it will be $1 per half hour.

I am already getting some concerns raised about our venue change. I would like to try to address some of your concerns here. If others arise, please let us know!

Loading and Unloading
The DeVos Place Exhibit Halls are approximately the same sq. footage as the entire DeltaPlex. This means that rather than having to drive around the building to one door per room to unload, you will actually pull into DeVos place (one entire end of the building is a loading area) to unload and load. There will be carts available for your use, at no charge. You will then set up your space in the single exhibit hall. You will not have to worry about shoppers making it to every room or finding you in a back room somewhere. Everyone will be in the same room!

What can be sold
We have not changed our policy on allowing you to sell anything you would like, as long as it is baby/child/maternity related. You may sell spring, summer, fall or winter clothing!

Space/Cost/Tables/Chairs
At the DeltaPlex each person would receive an 8 foot table for $35. For our Spring Sale we are giving you a 10'x10' space that you can set up any way you would like. We are often asked to remove tables or if tables can be moved to the back of the space to create more room. Unfortunately in the past, neither of those were possible. We are now giving you the option of a table (for an additional $10) or you can bring your own tables or racks. You can fit 2 8' tables in your booth space, one along each edge. You can also fit a rack along the back of your booth space if you so choose. We will provide 2 chairs for each booth at no additional cost.

We are so excited to announce that we are moving our event to DeVos Place in the Spring! The DeVos place will give our sellers more space (10'x10' booths), larger isles, and a beautiful facility to display all of their gently used baby and children's items. No more circus smell or dirt to deal with!!!!!!

We have also decided not to charge admission for this event! We recognize that driving downtown and finding parking might be a deterrent to some, but we hope that not having to pay to get in will make it all worth the extra effort!

If you would like to sell, registration is now open!
